M H S CLASS OF 1962 Dedication from the yearbook We dedicate ourselves to the future. The future, however, is not an identity unto itself. It can be considered only in relation to the present, for today is yesterday’s tomorrow.
The future is the only variable. The past is done; we can reminisce, but not change. The present is being acted; our decisions affect it little. The future lies ahead of us; we can plan for it wisely, or we can sabotage its very being.
A new building lies before us—new but unpolished. It is up to us to plan a meaningful use of its facilities. Since we are offered tremendous opportunities, we must learn to take advantage of them and to build, on the present, a worthwhile future. We can learn great lessons from the past, and let us remember that, “ Man is not the creature of circumstances. Circumstances are the creatures of man.” |
